Living close to Lancashire means we’re lucky to have some brilliant walks right on our doorstep. From peaceful reservoirs and woodland trails to countryside villages and open views, there are plenty of places to enjoy without travelling too far.
This page brings together some of our favourite Lancashire walks, including easy circular walks, dog-friendly routes and quieter countryside trails. We usually walk with our three dogs, so I always look for routes with straightforward parking, manageable terrain and somewhere nearby to stop for a coffee or something to eat.
For each walk, I’ll share the practical details I like to know before setting off — where to park, distance, approximate walking time, difficulty, terrain, toilets and whether the route is dog-friendly.
