Scotland is one of our favourite places for a road trip, with lochs, forests, mountains and some incredible scenery. You don’t need to tackle a big mountain walk to experience it either, with plenty of easier routes where you can still enjoy beautiful views.

This page brings together our favourite Scotland walks, with a focus on easier, dog-friendly routes that are ideal for exploring at a more relaxed pace. We particularly enjoy lochside paths, forest trails and walks that can be combined with visiting a nearby town or village.

For each walk, I’ll share the practical information we like to know before setting off, including parking, distance, approximate walking time, terrain, difficulty, toilets and whether the route is dog-friendly.

I’ll keep adding more Scotland walks as we explore, so hopefully you’ll find some inspiration for your next trip.
