The Peak District is a great place for a day out or weekend away, with beautiful countryside, rivers, reservoirs and some lovely towns and villages to explore. You don’t have to tackle the highest hills to enjoy the scenery either, with plenty of easier walks to choose from.
This page brings together our favourite Peak District walks, with a focus on easier, dog-friendly routes that are ideal if you prefer exploring at a more relaxed pace. We particularly enjoy waterside paths, woodland trails and walks that can be combined with visiting a nearby village or stopping somewhere for something to eat.
For each walk, I’ll share the practical information we like to know before setting off, including parking, distance, approximate walking time, terrain, difficulty, toilets and whether the route is dog-friendly.
I’ll keep adding more Peak District walks as we explore, so hopefully you’ll find some inspiration for your next day out or weekend away.
